EVENT DESCRIPTION: Atlas for Post-Disciplinary Design: Emergent Paradigms for the Post-Anthropos is both an event (a Forum / Musings (aka. workshops)) and a subsequent publication (an Atlas). The aim of the forum/musings is to bring together a diverse array of designers, researchers, and makers who challenge dominant perspectives by working beyond the boundaries of any single discipline. Our goal is not to reinforce architecture or art as a singular field but to reframe global narratives—highlighting, recontextualizing, and amplifying stories that disrupt contemporary frameworks and lay the foundation for a new post-disciplinary design language.
Rather than centering individual designers or cataloguing isolated projects, the forum will be organized by 5 themes (aka. forum sessions): 01. Deep Ecology / Encompassing. 02. Re: Sourcing / Sourcing. 03. Co-Creation / Simulating. 04. Cyber-Physical Processes / Making. 05. Alternate Realities / Futuring.
We hope that this forum will foster a sense of community and collective action, sparking conversations about the possibilities of a shared, post-disciplinary future. The forum will explore and discuss these possibilities.
Forum participants will include a cross section of faculty and technicians from numerous renowned programs within the Tyler School of Art + Architecture, researchers from other schools within Temple University, as well as renowned designers, researchers, and makers from both a local and global context.
The forum & atlas will be led by Andrew John Wit + Laurin Aman and include Tyler artists / faculty members Jessica Jane Julius (Glass), George Rodriguez (Ceramics), Dante Moore (Ceramics), Doug Bucci (M/J/C-C), and Kelly Holohan (Design + Illustration). We anticipate a total of around 12 non-Temple guest participants. The forum will be open to students, faculty, and the public.
The forum will take place at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture near the end of the Fall 2025 semester on Thursday 10/30 and Friday 10/31.
The atlas will be developed through interviews with participants and other outside experts, through the discussions and outcomes of the forum and musings, as well as data, imagery and other information provided by participants.
Although we see this as a scholarly endeavor, our aim is to create an event and publication which will be easily accessible and understood by a greater community of designers and non-academics.

OPEN CALL FOR SPECTACLES:
Organized by: Andrew John Wit + Laurin Aman
Location: Tyler School of Art + Architecture     Temple University.     Philadelphia, PA
The Call: The Atlas of Post-Disciplinary Design invites submissions for inclusion in a forthcoming forum, exhibition, and publication at the Tyler School of Art + Architecture in Philadelphia, PA.
We seek work that candidly or incidentally challenges singular disciplinary frameworks and representational norms through the exploration, fixation, or integration of innovative, post-disciplinary methodologies. We’re interested in inquiries that extend beyond architecture—or any one discipline—and provoke viewers to pause, reflect, and question the status quo of design practice.
Submissions may include, but are not limited to: images, artifacts, material explorations, machine hallucinations, drawings, diagrams, collages, and multi-modal works.
Printed works will be reproduced on-site using archival-quality paper. If you are submitting objects, please first provide high-resolution images of the object as it would be presented. If selected, shipping of physical work will be coordinated.
